David Allen Memorial Ballpark

David Allen Memorial Ballpark

David Allen Memorial Ballpark, became Enid’s “Field of Dreams.”  In the fall of 1996, fundraising efforts began in an effort to build a new baseball field for Enid.  Fundraising was boosted when Paul and Joan Allen became interested in underwriting the construction of the ballpark as a memorial to thier son David, a former Enid High and American Legion baseball player.  The ballpark committee made the announcement of the Allen family’s involvement in September of 1997.The committee got approval by the city council to proceed on the plans for the new project, which was originally called Grand Avenue Ballpark.

Since it’s dedication in 1999, the park has become known as one of the finest ballparks of it’s kind in Oklahoma and the region.  In fact, the park has hosted the National Junior College World Series for several years running.
